2012 Surf City Marathon

Come by and visit us in the beer gardens all day! This oceanfront course is a California dream. Run on Pacific Coast Highway, past the famous Huntington Beach pier and wind through the legendary surfing beaches of Southern California. Surf rock riff bands entertain along the way and the finish line beach party includes a beach side beer garden in the California sun.

Lazy Dog Orange & Lazy Dog Huntington Beach are proud Sponsors of the 2012 Illumination Foundation "NEW YEAR, NEW YOU" event. The Illumination Foundation (IF) is a non-profit, non-denominational, grassroots organization with a mission to bridge the gap in existing services for the underserved to break or prevent the cycle of homelessness. Beginning as a class project initiated by students enrolled in UC Irvine’s Healthcare Executive MBA Program in 2007, the organization has emerged as one of the fastest growing non-profits addressing the crisis of homelessness in Orange County. Since IF’s founding, the organization has experienced unparalleled growth and development. Today, IF administers six innovative programs, all of which fill a critical gap in the continuum of care for the homeless.

Light a Light of Love Holiday Parade
Location: Huntington Beach

This annual events features a small parade filled with community spirit and love. The participants include youth groups, a band, several classic cars and Santa and Mrs. Santa Claus on the Huntington Beach Fire Engine. They finish the parade, which crosses Pacific Coast Highway for a youth show with singing, dancing, and pictures with Santa Claus for youngsters. Proceeds benefit Huntington Beach Youth Shelter.

29th Annual Belmont Shore Christmas Parade
Location: Second Street, Belmont Shore

Belmont Shore Christmas Parade - 29th celebrates the holidays with 75 marching bands, local personalities and dignitaries, floats representing Long Beach businesses and associations. Bringing the parade to a close is the favorite Santa Claus. This year's parade theme is ‘IT’S A GREEN CHRISTMAS”, RECYCLE, REUSE, RENEW! Entries are encouraged to embrace the theme through the decoration of their floats and costumes. An estimated 50,000 people line the 15 block stretch of Second Street. The following are the affected streets and the times of their closures: Livingston Avenue will be closed from Ocean Blvd. to East Second Street at 3 p.m. for staging entrants. Side streets from Quincy Avenue to Claremont Avenue will be closed from Second Street to north and southbound to the alleys starting at 4 p.m. East Second Street will close from Livingston Avenue to Bayshore Avenue beginning at 4:30 p.m.

Pinups For Pitbulls Fundraiser
Location: Lazy Dog Huntington Beach

Event will be held at Lazy Dog Cafe at 16310 Beach Blvd with beer specials and a calendar release party with Pinups for Pitbulls from 1-4pm to benefit bully breed dogs in need. 15% of ALL proceeds from 10AM-10PM will be donated… just be sure to mention Pinups for Pitbulls when you get your check!

Huntington Beach Chamber of Commerce Tournament and Taste

For 34 years the Huntington Beach Chamber has been running this event to generate funds and in turn reinvest into the community. This year’s event will be the 35th, and we are sponsoring hole number 11 with our taste for all the golfers and volunteers. Representing the Lazy Dog Café will be GM Gabe Atkinson, Executive Chef Nick Yeager, and team member Christina Nguyen.

Huntington Beach's 107th Annual 4th of July Parade

The annual Huntington Beach 4th of July Parade and Festival is the biggest Independence Day celebration in Southern California. The event includes four days of festivities culminating in the 4th of July Parade down Mainstreet and a Fireworks Extravaganza from Huntington Pier. The Parade begins at Main Street and proceeds north on Main Street to Gothard. The fireworks begin at 9 pm.

HBAC’S Downtown Dog-A-Thon
Location: Huntington Beach Art Center 538 Main St

Lazy Dog HB is proud to sponsor the event with prizes for the top 3 fundraising dogs in the Dog-A-Thon. There is one mile walk that can be participated in by getting sponsors for you and your dog. Along with the walk there are 20 artists that have focused on dog art, and are proudly displaying their masterpieces at the Dog Fair. The walk starts at 9:30am, and the fair is from 10:00am-3:00pm at the HB Art Center downtown.

Paws For Cause

(Laura & Erin, employees of the HB store, pictured post race) Paws For Cause brings hope, love and encouragement to challenging circumstances such as disadvantaged kids, seniors, homeless, shut-ins and disaster victims as well as provides thousands of stuffed animals to hospitalized, special needs and less fortunate children.
