LAZY DOG CAFÉ CELEBRATES GRAND OPENING WITH COMPLIMENTARY MEALS FOR PHILANTHROPISTS
(Those In Service To Others To Enjoy Free “Sneak Preview” Meals During Spirit of Philanthropy)

Do you volunteer your time to help others? Support a nonprofit?  Work a phone bank for a special cause? Devote your energy or resources in service to those less fortunate?  If so, Lazy Dog Cafe wants to buy you lunch on Tuesday, March 2 in celebration of its impending opening.  Those living in or around Irvine who would like to attend the Spirit of Philanthropy “sneak preview” are encouraged to call the restaurant to make their reservations for a complimentary meal (714) 596-9960.  Chris Simms believes, “Spirit of Philanthropy is part of Lazy Dog Café’s pre-opening celebration that offers the staff an opportunity to master their skills before opening to the general public. We wanted to do something special for those in the community who donate their valuable time, energy and/or resources to improve the lives of others.”

Simms will present a Spirit of Philanthropy Award to the individual with the most compelling story of serving others in their community.  The restaurant is working with several nonprofits in and around Irvine for submissions.  The public may nominate by phoning (562) 491-1000 or emailing to lazydogphilanthropy@frankgroffinc.com.

Selected by Nation’s Restaurant News as one of the nation’s “hottest” concepts, Lazy Dog Café specializes in an eclectic menu of American fare with touches of Italian, Chinese, Mediterranean and South American.  Favorite items include a classic American Campfire Pot Roast, “Inside-out” Quesadilla, “Not Your Mom’s” Meatloaf, Trio of Hummus sampler, fresh baked flat breads and pizzas, BBQ Baby Back Ribs, Ginger Soy Salmon, Bahama Jerk Chicken and a Hawaiian inspired Ahi Poke. Award-winning Hatch Design in tandem with Architects Design Consortium is overseeing the creative rustic design that has been described as “Frank Lloyd Wright meets Ralph Lauren.”  Lazy Dog Café is located at The Market Place (13290 Jamboree Road, Irvine).
